It is also the only faction that has anything reseambling a dragon of any kind. Sanctuary is made of Asian-themed aquatic creatures. The Academy(wizard), Dungeon(warlock), Fortress(dwarves), and Sylvan(elves) factions from HMM5 are all gone. There are some changes that people who are familiar with the series will notice. The campaigns in this game can be played in any order. HMM5 had a pretty good storyline that flowed well from campaign to campaign. The missions are still enjoyable to play, I just would have liked a story that flowed better. Also, as I said the plot seems to have many holes and seems disjointed. I mean am I supposed to believe that his man had five kids and it just so happened that one became a knight, one a necromancer, one a barbarian, and so on. The tutorial campaign introduces the Duke of Griffin, and the five campaigns(one for each faction) are each led by one of his children. The cinematics are beautiful, but the story is at times jumpy and a little confusing. Now at this point I have not beaten the game, but so far I am not a fan of the story. The storyline, however is a little disappointing. The graphics are, as you would expect, better than HMM5. The user interface is easy enough to figure out and the tutorials walk you through everything without boring you. If you have never played a Heroes games then do not worry. So, if you have played those this will seem familiar to you. The user interface for MMH6 is very similar to previous versions. All of the games consist of the player controlling one of more “heroes”, building up towns and recruiting different creatures and fighting armies of enemy heroes and wild creatures. They are an excellent series of games with strong replayablity, good graphics, and a pretty good story line. I have played II-V along with the accompanying expansion packs. For those that aren’t familiar, the Heroes of Might and Magic games (not sure why they rearranged the name for the sixth installment?) are a series of turn-based, fantasy-themed, strategy/role-playing games from 3DO(I-IV) and then Ubisoft(V-VI). Technically speaking this game is a prequel, it takes place 400 years in the past of the Might and Magic universe. The sixth installment of the Heroes of Might and Magic series is the sort of balance of old and new you want in a good sequel.
